What is PedagogAI?
Eight tools in one — AI rubrics, report card comments, math unit planning, parent emails, seating plans, TOC notes, a weekly planner, and What's the Question? — the problem-finding tool that reads your class data. Built for inquiry-based, strengths-based classrooms. Your student data never leaves your device.

📱 Step 1 — Open PedagogAI

Open your browser Safari on iPad · Chrome, Safari, or Edge on laptop/Chromebook

Go to: pedagogai.ca/app

Type it directly into the address bar

Paste your license key and tap Unlock PedagogAI Your key is in the receipt email from Lemon Squeezy — it looks like a long code with dashes

You only need to enter this once per device

🏠 Step 2 — Install on iPad (optional but recommended)

Tap the Share button ⬆️ in Safari — top of screen on iPad

Tap "Add to Home Screen" — scroll down in the share sheet

Tap Add — PedagogAI appears on your home screen like a real app. Full screen, works offline.

👥 Step 3 — Set Up Your Class

⚙️ Settings → fill in your Teacher Profile Name, school, grade, class name, term focus. The AI uses this in every comment it writes.

📋 Roster → Add your students Tap + Add Student, or import from Excel. Add designation codes and ELL level if applicable — this dramatically improves report card comment quality.

📊 Rubrics → Create your first rubric Select Grade → Subject → Big Idea → tap ✨ Generate Rubric with AI. Takes about 10 seconds.

🎯 Assessment → Record observations Tap a student, choose a level, add a quick note. These feed your report card comments at the end of term.

Tip: even "Proficient — explained her thinking clearly in math share" makes comments much more specific

🤔 What's the Question?

When something feels off but you can't quite name it:

"When you can't articulate the problem, you need to find the question."

Go to the 🤔 The Question tab, describe what you're noticing in plain language, and PedagogAI reads your real class data — assessments, proficiency patterns, unassessed students — and helps you find the question worth investigating before you act.

Examples of what to type:
"Why are my students not engaging during writing time?"
"Three kids haven't submitted anything in two weeks — what's going on?"
"My ELL students seem to be disappearing in group work"

Assess students throughout the term using the 🎯 Assessment tab — quick taps, short notes

When report cards are due → go to 📄 Reporting

Turn on CSL Mode in Settings to get Compassionate Systems Leadership comments that tell who the child IS — not just what they produced. Turn on IB Mode for PYP Learner Profile language, ATL skills, and 4-part PYP comment structure.

💡 Tips to Get the Most Out of PedagogAI

📊 Create rubrics first — everything else connects to them. Make 2-3 rubrics for subjects you're currently teaching, then create assignments linked to those rubrics.

⚙️ Fill in AI Context in Settings — describe your class, your teaching approach, and tone preferences. The AI uses this to make every comment sound like it came from you specifically.

🎯 Assess as you go — even one observation per student per assignment gives you something meaningful to work with at report card time. Quick notes beat perfect notes.

💾 Back up regularly — ⚙️ Settings → Download Backup → save to Google Drive or email yourself. Your data lives in your browser — keep it safe.

🤖 Tap the 🤖 button anytime — the AI assistant in the bottom right knows your class and can answer curriculum questions, suggest next steps, or help you use any feature.

📐 Try the Math Planner — go to 📐 Math Planner → + New Unit → choose Single Grade or Combined Class → select your Big Idea → Generate. Full 3-week unit with daily plans, journal prompts, and formative assessment in about 15 seconds.

🤔 Use "What's the Question?" during the term — not just at report card time. When you notice a pattern, name it in plain language and let the data help you focus before you act.

🔒 Your Privacy Promise

No student names or personal data is ever sent to the AI.
All student data — names, designations, IEP notes, observations — stays in your browser only. Nothing is stored on PedagogAI servers. The AI generates comments using grade level, proficiency levels, and observation content only. Designed with FIPPA compliance in mind.

Your license renews July 31 each year. You'll get a reminder 14 days before. Your data stays completely safe — just renew and keep going. Renew at pedagogai.ca
